I'm being charged for a long distance call that I KNOW I did not make on my land line, what are my rights?
I have a land line that is used PURELY for internet service. My local phone company, Frontier of Rochester, has repeatedly charged me for calls to a number in Santa Barbara. I know this number is not being called from my apartment, as the calls have been placed at times when neither myself nor my roomate have been home to make them, plus we both have cell phones for long distance usage & we don’t know anyone in SB?!?. The calls have been routed to AT&T. AT&T says that they cannot help me solve the issue because I refuse to open a long distance account with them, and Frontier says that they can’t help me because it’s an AT&T charge. This is an extra I’m being charged every month on a call that online drugs without prescription is not being made from my apartment. Does ANYONE know what sort of legal rights I have, or if its possible that someone is tapping into my phone line? (both companies have told me that this is impossible, but my last place had a line that was crossed & we could have easily used) thanks!
